About Wee Rescue

Wee Rescue is a 501(c)3, all-volunteer organization committed to rescuing small dogs like Havanese, Lhasa Apsos, Pekingese, Shih Tzus, and other small breeds/mixes regardless of age or medical condition from the Austin Animal Center and other shelters and facilities in the Austin area. All rescued dogs live with volunteer foster parents until they are adopted.

Our mission is to place homeless small dogs into local, loving, permanent homes in the Central Texas area.

Wee Rescue Dogs

All 'Wees' receive immediate medical attention when they are rescued. Before they are made available for adoption, they are spayed/neutered, receive all required immunizations, and are microchipped. They spend at least 2 weeks in their foster home so their foster parent(s) can get to know them and share information about their personalities, training, and habits.

Wee Rescue Funding

Wee Rescue is 100% funded by individual donations and company contributions. All funds go to the care and support of rescued animals. We receive matching funds through many national and local employers, such as Dell and National Instruments.

Wee Rescue Volunteers

Wee Rescue relies completely on the time, talent, and generosity of our wonderful volunteers. To learn how you can get involved, please email us at info@weerescue.org or see us at our next Meet and Greet.
