Meet our little Dodger. His story is one of a
kind. He was badly injured after being
removed from the jaws of a pit bull. This
evidently was not the first time the dog had
been injured. He suffered several broken ribs
and a collapsed lung. This guy is tiny. He has
a little "Rod Stewart" thing going on with his
hair. He has received lots of love and care and
was and always will be a Crossing favorite. He
obviously loves life and was determined to
survive. He is now healthy and happy and
unless you knew what happened you would
never know he had the injuries he sustained.
Dodger's fosters say he surprises them with
something new almost every day. He loves to
run outside and also in the house. He waits to
be picked up and will sit or lay in your lap as
long as you let him. He plays with toys and
likes to roll on his back while tossing them
around. He's housebroken.
He loves walks. He walks well by himself or
with another dog. The first picture is on
intake. He was in a great deal of pain and in
great need of medical help and TLC. The
second picture is just his glamor pose. The
third is taken in his bean bag chair. It is his
favorite place to sleep and play! He usually
runs from another room and leaps into the
bean bag.
We hope to find the perfect home for Dodger.
He has had a very tough life and deserves lots
of love and understanding. Dodger's medical
bills were significant. If you would like to
donate to Dodger's medical costs it would be
greatly appreciated. This little guy managed to
not only survive but has shown us all how
forgiving an animal can be. Incidentally, his
fosters refer to him as Bruiser....he is a tough
guy in a tiny body. We know if Dodger could
talk he would be extremely grateful to his
foster parents Lynn and Carey. They have
been wonderful!
Introducing Waldo.
This guy is a great story and he continues to
write more chapters in his now happy life. He
has been blessed with a wonderful foster who
refers to him as "her little angel." He was in
terrible shape when we got him. The
volunteer who picked him up at the shelter will
never forget just how fast he responded to a
few kind words. By the time the 15-minute
drive was over, it was as if they had been
together forever.
Now, of course, the love of his life is his foster
mom who he follows everywhere. When he is
adopted his new person or persons will be
beyond special to "Wonderful Waldo." He has
had a lot to deal with and he is fortunate to
have a foster who is letting Waldo become
secure with patience and love. He loves walks,
car rides and playing with his foster sister Jeni.
Waldo is a perfect example of a very
neglected dog....a true rescue dog. He had a
very slim chance of ever knowing the "good
life." The first picture is of Waldo on intake. He
was barely able to defecate due to the
masking tape attached to his hind quarters.
He was filthy and covered in fleas. The second
picture is his adorable lion pose and the third
is Waldo preparing for a Hawaiian night out.
Hopefully, everyone seeing his pictures will
smile knowing just how far he has come.
Thanks to his special person Judy.
Meet two of our newest Wees: Dodger and Waldo!
