We are so pleased to highlight Owen, a former Wee Rescue who was adopted in 2005. He was so fortunate to have been adopted by Carl and Sylvia. His adoption has continued to be a blessing for Wee Rescue. His "Mom" just ran in her first half-mile marathon! She had the wonderful idea of getting pledges for Wee Rescue from people who knew her passion for Owen and where he came from. Here is Owen's story told by his Mom....

We got Owen May of 2005. We went to another rescue adoption at Petco but Wee Rescue was there first. I sat on the floor. Owen at 3 years old came in my lap....that was it!!!!  Owen had been returned several times because of his allergies. Not a problem for us! Carl and I had 2 other BIG dogs that we rescued from puppies (one lived to be 14 and the other to 13 1/2). We couldn't be without another BIG dog...until we met Owen...now we will always, always, always go to Wee Rescue for the rest of our lives and rescue a non-puppy. Owen is ... well ... I could cry thinking of the joy this pup has given us. That is why when I made this commitment after my 50th birthday. Carl and I knew that I had to take pledges to help Wee Rescue and so did everyone else. I surpassed my goal of $500.00 in pledges to $1000!!!!!

This great story has so many rescue aspects to it. A heartfelt thank-you from Wee Rescue and CONGRATULATIONS for your amazing effort, Sylvia. We so appreciate the needed and generous donation and a very special thank-you from all the volunteers at Wee Rescue for the wonderful life you and Carl are giving Owen. You are an inspiration to everyone involved in rescue.
